International Development Cooperation Sectional Research Meetiong (GSAPS)

This study group aims to develop a new framework of international
development cooperation, particularly focusing on global sustainability
and social capacity development. We will also pay strong attention
to develop original idea/ concept/ model based on Japanese international
cooperation and development experiences in Asian countries, as well
as collaborative schemes for education and researches among universities,
experts, policymakers and civil societies.
This group will hold approximately 10 study sessions in 18 months,
and will publish the output from the group at the end of 2008 (English
publication is also under consideration).

- ODA Symposium ‘Towards Japan’s new international cooperation:
how can we strengthen intellectual creativity and international
intellectual presence’ June 27th, 2007
The symposium was held in JICA international cooperation educational institute with 11 participants. In the symposium, Mr. Toshihisa Toyoda, the president of Japan Society for International Development (JASID), has made the welcome greeting, and Mr. Jun Nishikawa, the vice president of JASID, has made a keynote speech. After a coffee break, Matsuoka chaired the panel discussion consisting of:
